The Office of National Drug Control Policy says "To allow marijuana as a medicine would send a dangerous message to our youth". How can we tell them it's a deadly drug if it helps people medically?
ONDCP says, "Marijuana contains chemicals that may be as harmful as heroin, cocaine, alcohol and nicotine". Yet opium and cocaine are both schedule II medicines, and alcohol and nicotine can be freely consumed by anyone of age, anytime.
ONDCP says, "Making marijuana a medicine would make it easier for children to get marijuana". Yet this doesn't apply to other more dangerous drugs dispensed legally, i.e., sedatives, stimulants and narcotics. Does prohibiting medical marijuana keep marijuana from our children?
ONDCP says "Only through scientific research can a drug be approved". Yet they continue to ignore the extensive medical records, physicians' approval and patients' positive responces among thousands of modern scientific research cases.
ONDCP says "There is no research proving marijuana's medicinal benefits". Yet they admit THC(the active ingredient in marijuana) works, and promote Marinol®, a FDA approved synthetic THC pill. "Advances in cannabinoid science have given rise to a wealth of opportunities for developing medically useful cannabinoid-based drugs for pain relief, antiemesis (nausea), and appetite stimulation".
Marinol® is proof of the research! Marinol® is proof
that marijuana demonstrated its effectiveness! If it
didn't, why would they make a pill of it?
Marinol® is proof of the lies about marijuana!
